Scion to one of very few rich and prestigious Twi’ lek families among the Empire. He was raised at large by his uncle, who took notice of his great talents from a very young age and wanted to make sure he would grow to reach his full potential. His uncle was the one to plant the seeds that would center Rafael’s personality on the following values: Honor, Respectfulness, Dignity, Fighting Spirit.
Rafael embodies these values to the fullest. He carries himself with Honor and Dignity, on and off the battlefield. Never looking for excuses on the rare occasions he faces defeat, never taunting his enemies when victorious. He Respects friends and foes alike. And above all, he never gives up, he never surrenders. Neither his battles nor his ideals.
Even though he grew up as part of the Imperial world, his strong character and core values made him a true knight of the Light Side. And even though he does not exactly go against the Empire, he sets an example of the ways the Empire might be able to achieve victory with Honor and perhaps coming closer to the Light Side. It is precisely his ways that made him team up and create a strong partnership with Quaestio Myrtou.
Rafael has used part of his family’s wealth to create the Rafael Taurus Academy on Korriban, a place for kids to train in the force but away from the usual Dark influences of the Council.
As a proud Twi’lek, he has offered sanctuary, and saved countless young and unfortunate Twi’leks through his Academy, souls that would otherwise end up as slaves (this being a best-case-scenario).
