The myth tells the story of Prometheus, a titan forced to eternal torment by the gods, for commiting the one unforgivable offense: providing people with knowledge.. Prometheus (whose name actually means provider), after teaching humans how to use fire, was tied to a mountain, so that vultures would consume his insides while he was still alive, only for them to be regrown and the torture to start over, again and again..
Prometheus was the only creature to be punished by an ancient god and never be spared by another one..
He was only saved when a demi god encountered him on his travels and acted with his human half in control, ending his suffering and honoring his gift to humanity..
